Classic Larry Bird postgame interview vs. the New Jersey Nets in 1988

In an intense and closely contested matchup between the Boston Celtics and the (then) New Jersey (now, Brooklyn) Nets on March 28, 1988, the Celtics narrowly edged out the Nets with a 106-105 victory. This classic regular season game saw both teams displaying grit to secure a win.

From the beginning, the game was neck-and-neck. Larry Bird had an impressive performance, leading the team with 28 points. As the final seconds of the game ticked away, the Celtics were up by just one. The Nets had possession and an opportunity to win. However, a crucial defensive stop by the Celtics ensured that their narrow lead was held, and they emerged victorious with a 106-105 win.

This game will be remembered as a classic encounter between two rivals. The Celtics’ win further solidified their position in the playoff race, while the Nets were left with the bitter taste of a narrow defeat.
