The Los Angeles Country Club course has been criticized by Brooks Koepka as well as many other golfers. There is not a lot of satisfaction among Koepka as a result of the whole environment and the golfer is tied for 20th going into the final round.
In an interview with the media, Koepka expressed his disappointment with the LA Country Club course. It is true that there are other tournaments in which Koepka does not like to play, but he is different when it comes to the US Open.
“I’m not a huge fan of this place,” Koepka said, as quoted by skysports.com “I’m not a huge fan of blind tee shots, and then I think there’s just some spots that no matter what you hit, the ball just ends up in the same spot.
I think it would be more fun to play on just like a regular round than it would be a US Open. I mean, there was, what, two eights (on Thursday)? That doesn’t happen. I’ve won majors on golf courses that I haven’t really liked too much.
But, yeah, this one, I don’t know, it’s just — it’s not my favourite”.
Justin Thomas is disappointed
Justin Thomas, his colleague, disappointed everyone, including himself, in the end. As a result, he was expecting a much better performance.
Thomas finished in a tie for 152nd in the 156-strong field and missed the cut by 12 shots. Compared to what we are used to from Thomas, this is a far cry from what he normally delivers. “I was playing the best I’ve played in a really long time this week, so funny game, man,” Thomas said.
