Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou rumoured to be next as exhibition fight ‘with no knockdowns’, claims Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn

Tyson Fury’s next fight is rumoured to be an exhibition against Francis Ngannou, according to rival promoter Eddie Hearn.

Fury’s UK co-promoter Frank Warren revealed to talkSPORT on Thursday that the Gypsy King’s upcoming bout will not be the undisputed world title showdown against Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia.

Instead he teased a ‘game-changer’ fight.

His rival Hearn, who promotes Anthony Joshua, has now divulged what he understands that means.

Asked about social media rumours of Fury vs Ngannou, Hearn told Boxing Social: “Yes, I believe so, this is what I’ve heard.

“It will be an exhibition apparently, no knockdowns or anything.

“I don’t know, I’m only telling you what I’ve heard.

“Who knows what’s what, but I think that is apparently what is gonna be the next fight.

“Disappointing, but it is what it is.

“It’s a big event, but I wanted to see him fight Oleksandr Usyk.

“It’d be nice to get an undisputed champion, but Tyson’s in charge of his own career and I’m sure he’s gonna make a load of money, good luck to him.”

Warren told Sawyer and Jordan on talkSPORT on Thursday: “It’ll be a bit of a game-changer in a couple of weeks’ time.

“It’ll be a massive game-changer and it’s gonna be interesting to see the fallout from it.

“You’ll find out in a couple of weeks. I guarantee you, you’ll say to me in a couple of weeks, ‘That’s a game-changer.'”

When he was pushed by talkSPORT.com about whether a crossover fight against an MMA heavyweight was possible for Fury, Warren added: “Yeah, he’s up for that.

“He can’t sit around twiddling his thumbs.

“The type of money something like that could generate – why are you waiting for people who keep saying, ‘Let’s wait until next year,’ when you can make these fights now. Why wouldn’t you do that now?

“I have no problem, if they wanna do that in the boxing ring, no problem at all.”
