Kylian Mbappe left out of Paris Saint-Germain squad for pre-season tour with club ‘convinced’ of Real Madrid deal

Kylian Mbappe has been left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for their pre-season tour of Japan.

The news comes just hours after the Frenchman scored in his side’s first friendly of the season, a 2-0 win over Le Havre, which saw his younger brother Ethan debut.

Reports in France claim the decision was communicated to Mbappe by manager Luis Enrique and sporting adviser Luis Campos shortly after the win.

RMC Sport claim that PSG are ‘convinced’ that Mbappe has an agreement to join Real Madrid for free next summer.

Amid intense interest from the Spanish giants last summer, Mbappe signed a two-year extension in Paris, keeping him with the club until 2025 and spurning Madrid’s interest.

However, it later emerged that deal was in fact a one-year agreement with the option of a further year.

Mbappe has since failed to trigger the further year in time for it to come into effect, meaning he can leave in the summer of 2024 for free.
