Chet Holmgren faces off against Kevin Durant

It’s August, which means the NBA calendar has reached the slowest part of the year.

With most offseason moves made, teams idly wait as training camp nears in September to kick start the 2023-24 season. All this downtime doesn’t mean NBA players aren’t continuously putting in the work though — this is clearly evident with 2022 No. 2 pick Chet Holmgren, who missed the entire 2022-23 season due to a Lisfranc injury.

Since being cleared from his injury earlier in the offseason, Holmgren has been a busy man as he participated in summer league — despite his stature historically warranting otherwise — and is part of the Team USA Select Team.

Scrimmaging with future first-ballot Hall-of-Famers can also be added to the list.

Holmgren went 1v1 against Kevin Durant in a recent run, per Through The Lens. Both seven-footers share history in OKC, as Durant spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Other NBA players like Trae Young and Lonnie Walker IV also participated in the event.
