Jude Bellingham tops LaLiga scoring charts same day as younger brother Jobe scores first professional goals

The Bellingham family had a day to remember as both Jude and younger brother Jobe scored twice for their respective sides.

Jobe, the 17-year-old Sunderland midfielder, began the day as a match-winner against Rotherham in the Championship – scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory.

They were the first of his career as a professional, with his opener being a header which bundled over the line to cancel out Hakeem Odoffin’s strike.

His winner came seven minutes after the break at the Stadium of Light.

The youngster guided in a shot from just behind the penalty spot to give the Black Cats their first win of the season.

Then, in a later kick-off in Spain, not wanting to be outdone by his sibling, Jude put on another masterclass as Real Madrid beat Almeria 3-1.

The LaLiga giants went 1-0 down early on after Sergio Arribas’ shock third-minute opener.

But Los Blancos clawed their way back when 20-year-old Jude scrambled in from close range for his second goal in as many games.

Bellingham then doubled his tally on the hour-mark after heading home from six yards out.

Making it three for the season also lifted Bellingham to the top of the league’s goalscoring charts.

He is the only player to find the back of the net on more than one occasion in the Spanish top-flight so far this campaign.

Despite the European season being incredibly young, Bellingham leads the continent’s top five leagues in goal contributions with three goals and an assist in two games.

Vinicius Jr. showed that he won’t be far behind, though, scoring an absolutely delightful dink into the top corner from a Bellingham pass to secure the three points.

Jude moved to Spain from Borussia Dortmund in the summer for a British record £88.5million, rising to £115m in add ons.

A product of Birmingham City, his younger brother Jobe also came through at the Blues, debuting in 2021/22 before breaking through last season and earning £3m move to Sunderland.
