Ludvig Aberg’s former caddy Jack Clarke is disappointed that the Swede decided to split with him and hire a new caddy. Aberg decided that it would be Joe Skovron. He is a caddy with a lot of experience and will be of great help to the young golfer.

Clarke, Aberg’s former caddy, wishes Aberg luck and hopes he can do great things. However, he could not hide his disappointment.

He just turned around to me the week before last and said he was going to let me go, purely based on wanting more experience on the bag. Before the conversation I didn’t see it coming because of the results we had together but I totally respect his decision. I was shocked and disappointed by the decision, but at the end of the day it’s his decision to hopefully become what he wants to become.” he said, as quoted by golfmagic.

Jack Clarke reacts

Jack Clarke is aware of his lack of Majors experience and understands Aberg’s decision when it comes to that aspect.

“When he said the experience in majors, I can’t say too much about it because I don’t have that.”

They have been through a lot together.

There are many beautiful memories behind them and great moments. However, most golfers, when they want to make a step forward in their career, decide on similar moves. It’s hard to blame Aberg at this point.

“I’m disappointed to not be able to continue with him after what we have been through, but it’s his personal choice and I understand it.”

In any case, Aberg’s former caddy is ready to support the Swede in his career and hopes that he will realize his potential.

“I’ll be cheering him on from the sidelines. The predictions are realistic and hopefully with the team around him he can make them become a reality.”
