The First Responders Children’s Foundation (FRCF), a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has announced a promising partnership with the world’s fifth-ranked golfer, Patrick Cantlay, and his foundation, to raise funds and awareness for first responder families across the United States.

The collaboration, which will run for several years, is set to kick off with two significant initiatives prior to The Sentry, the first PGA TOUR event held in Maui, from January 4-7, 2024.

The first initiative is a dedicated fundraising campaign to support first responder families affected by the catastrophic wildfires that occurred in Hawaii in August 2023.

Cantlay and FRCF have initiated the campaign and welcome contributions from the public. To donate, one can text “STRONG” to 24365 or visit https://1strcf.org/cantlay/.

Second is the establishment of the Patrick Cantlay Scholarship, which will grant four-year scholarships to a group of first responder children who demonstrate entrepreneurial skills and are interested in pursuing careers in business, starting in the fall of 2024.

“As a former PGA TOUR Player of the Year, supporting first responders, their families, and the communities they serve holds immense importance to me,” said Cantlay.

“I am honored to partner with FRCF, one of the leading charities in the country that offers steadfast support to this cause. We look forward to shining a light on the invaluable contributions of first responders while addressing the unique challenges their children and families encounter.”

“We are delighted to announce that Patrick Cantlay has joined us as an Ambassador for the First Responders Children’s Foundation,” stated Jillian Crane, CEO and President of the organization.

“A true champion on and off the golf course, Patrick epitomizes dedication to altruism, and his contribution to assisting the families of first responders will empower us to expand the scope of our programs nationwide. Every day, first responders undertake increasingly perilous situations, and it is our obligation to support them, their families, and especially their children, who deserve our unwavering support and gratitude.”

Founded more than 22 years ago in response to the 9/11 attacks, which caused the loss of 800 children’s parents, First Responders Children’s Foundation’s pivotal initiative is to provide scholarship aid to the children of first responders. The organization has awarded over $3.8 million in scholarships over the years, benefiting 1,300 students.
