Harvard University destroys Northwestern, getting the ITA National Championships

The Harvard University men’s tennis team qualified for the ITA National Indoor Championship in New York City, dominating the ITA Kickoff Weekend final.

The Crimson downed the Northwestern Wildcats 4-0.

The Crimson will stay home next weekend to take on No. 14 Michigan and Boston University, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for a doubleheader, tomorrow, Friday, February 2.

Ronan Jachuck and Masato Perera got their first win of the day 6-3.

Daniel Milavsky and Cooper Williams won 6-2 over Gleb Blekher and Felix Nordby. In singles, the Crimson continued to grow by winning the first set in all six matches. Completing an undefeated weekend with his win, Henry von der Schulenburg earned his first singles win of the day, dropping Presley Thieneman in the same set 6-2.

Jachuck and Milavsky notched three and four wins respectively, sealing the game and securing the shutout. Each has lost no more than four games in consecutive victories. As play was suspended following the Crimson victory, each of the remaining Harvard players led in the second set with at least four wins.
