The challenge between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner has moved from Indian Wells to the Miami Open.

The two young tennis players are the most anticipated stars in the tournaments in Florida, especially now that their rivalry is back in perfect balance.

With their two different styles and their different approaches are exciting the fans, who find themselves at the dawn of a new exciting rivalry, after having feasted for years on those of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Alcaraz and Sinner will be the top two seeds at the ATP Masters 1000 in Miami, considering the absence of Djokovic: they will only be able to meet in the final, unlike what happened in California.

“This moment means a lot to me. Winning a tournament is always very nice and special. Having won this tournament is particularly significant for the moment I came from and for what I have been through in the last few months, including the ankle injury.

I showed an increasingly high level match after match and remained solid mentally. For me, for my family and for my team it means a lot, much more than any record or all the ATP Masters 1000 won before turning 21,” explained Alcaraz in an interview with Sky Sport.

Carlitos wants Sinner in the Miami Open final

Carlitos would like to compete with his direct rival for the second consecutive week. Alcaraz’s victory in Indian Wells was a special victory, because the Spaniard had not won a title since Wimbledon 2023. And above all, 2024 had not started at all positively for him, suggesting a crisis.

An ankle injury also forced the 20-year-old to withdraw after just a few minutes at the tournament in Rio de Janeiro on February 21.

“For me, the real victory is having overcome the problems I’ve had in recent months. I think it’s important to have a broad baggage in terms of shots. But without being mentally solid, physical qualities are not enough.

There has to be a mix of everything. A year ago I played the semi-final against Jannik here and in Miami. I really enjoy playing against him and I hope we will also face each other in Miami in the final,” he added.
