Snapchat is getting rid of Snap Camera for Zoom

Those quirky filters and lenses courtesy of Snap Camera will soon be a thing of the past.

Starting January 25, the app from Snapchat will no longer be available for both use or download. The reasoning behind this move isn’t clear from Snapchat’s support page so far.

Snap Camera allowed users to apply filters to video chats and live streams on both PCs and Macs. This worked in applications that supported webcam input, including Zoom.

One lawyer in Texas experienced this back in 2021, when a Zoom call led to a face filter fiasco where he appeared during a hearing as an adorable kitten.
