Croatia demand ‘respect’ after Canada coach said they would ‘F’ them

Croatia have demanded respect after Canada coach John Herdman said his team would “F” them in their second group game.

“I told them (Canada) they belong here and we’re going to go and ‘F’ Croatia,” he said after losing to Belgium. “That’s as simple as it gets.”

Herdman has since been targeted by the Croatian press.

And Zlatko Dalic made his disapproval clear: “The Croatian team deserves respect from everyone.

“We deserve respect and dignity. We respect everyone equally so.

“We are worthy of their respect. The Canadians must also have respect for us.”

“This way of putting words together is not a sign of respect. We are runners up, we deserve respect.”

Ivan Perisic added: “I second the head coach and I cannot wait for the game to begin.”

Canada need a result in the second game against Croatia, the 2018 World Cup finalists, on Sunday to have any hope of reaching the knockout stages of the tournament.
