Manchester United star Marcus Rashford posts ‘GOAT’ emoji on Instagram as Novak Djokovic does same celebration after winning 10th Australian Open

Novak Djokovic has a fan in Marcus Rashford as the Manchester United star congratulated the tennis great on Instagram.

Djokovic cemented his legacy as an all-time great of the game as he won a 10th Australian Open title on Sunday.

Djokovic and Rashford share a similar celebration

He equalled Rafael Nadal’s record of 22 Grand Slam victories, and looks certain to add more before his career is done.

It has been a difficult couple of weeks for the 35-year-old as he returned to Australia after being deported in 2022.

Djokovic celebrated by putting his finger to his head immediately after claiming victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas.

It was very reminiscent of the celebration Rashford has been doing in recent weeks.

The Manchester United star has not revealed the real meaning behind it, but suggestions are that it is to do with mental health and the struggles he has faced in recent times.

We’ve seen plenty of it too as Rashford has been in brilliant form since the World Cup, while the celebration has been mimicked by many in the game.

After Djokovic did a similar celebration, the 25-year-old England star reposted an image on social media with goat emoji as well as a finger pointing to a face.

There is, however, no suggestion that the 22-time Grand Slam winner has copied Rashford with the celebration and may be in reference to the mentality he has had to show over the last two weeks to win in Melbourne.
