“Paul and Korda can win Wimbledon”

Patrick McEnroe, John’s brother, launches into a very ambitious prediction during an interview for Tennis365. Already from the next Wimbledon he foresees that one of the aforementioned tennis players will undermine the competition of Novak Djokovic, and raise the very prestigious London titile.

Patrick analyzed: “I believe that the group of young Americans that has been establishing itself in recent times can represent a strong alternative to Djokovic. Any opponent who takes on the Serbian will be highly motivated to break his streak in London and I have a feeling there are several players from our country capable of doing that.

You have to consider Fritz after he reached the quarterfinals last year, but I also see Shelton as very dangerous on grass. I think he can adapt his tennis very well to this surface if he can interpret the bounce of the ball well.”

Novak Djokovic has big threats at Wimbledon, according a top insider

And there is a clear feeling that both Sebastian Korda and Tommy Paul can do something big in this tournament: “Tommy is getting more and more solid, he is able to attack the ball early and I see him as a serious chance to do very well on grass.

My favorite, however, is Korda. He’s a guy who has incredible potential and if he recovers well from his wrist injury sustained in Australia and works on hitting the ball harder on serve, I think he’s a real threat for Wimbledon 2023.” The American tennis movement is experiencing a moment of great rebirth.

The stars and stripes national team in recent years has given birth to excellent talents who are growing more and more and are making room for themselves among the strongest. From Taylor Fritz, now consecrated tennis player in the top ten of the world rankings to Frances Tiafoe and Tommy Paul, who are gradually achieving more than encouraging results even in the Grand Slams, up to the new recruits, Sebastian Korda, Ben Shelton and Brandon Nakashima who have broken through the wall of the top 50 and bode well for prestigious future results.
