Edinburgh led Orient to the National League title before earning promotion back into the EFL just two months before he sadly passed away due to a cardiac arrest.

A much-loved and respected member of the football family, Edinburgh passed away at the age of just 49 in June 2019.

In a statement on their social media channels, Colchester United wrote: “Not for the first time this season a very small minority of those in the away section have acted in a shameful manner.

“This time making vile chants that no decent person would make and are in no way shared by Colchester United or the vast majority of Colchester United fans.

“We will co-operate with Leyton Orient should there be any further investigations.”

It was a match that ended in a 2-2 draw when Leyton Orient’s two-goal lead was cancelled out late in the game, leaving Colchester in 21st position in the League table and just five points above the drop zone.
