6 teams labeled ‘best landing spots’ for Zach LaVine in Bulls trade

The offseason is heating up, even for the Chicago Bulls, who were projected to be one of the teams staying put, based on Arturas Karnisovas’ comments at the end of the year. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Bulls have begun contacting other teams to gauge their trade interest in Zach LaVine.

Chicago inked LaVine to a massive four-year contract extension last summer, but it’s clear that the team’s current core isn’t good enough to win a championship. Now, it’s looking like the best course of action for Chicago could be trading their core, including LaVine, and hitting the reset button.

During a recent stream for Bleacher Report, NBA YouTuber Sixringsofsteel went over six teams that could be the best landing spots for LaVine. We recently went over five ideas of our own, but let’s take a look at his ideas.

With RJ Barrett as trade bait and a solid infrastructure led by Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and Tom Thibodeau, Zach LaVine could fit perfectly with the New York Knicks. They need extra shot creation and will likely be looking to improve upon their success from last season.

An unconventional option, there’s a chance the Orlando Magic believe they are ready to compete next year. If that’s the case, they could put together an enticing trade package for LaVine that wouldn’t even gut their roster. He could slide in as a primary scoring option next to Paolo Banchero, drastically improving the team’s ceiling.

6 teams labeled ‘best landing spots’ for Zach LaVine in Bulls trade: Miami Heat

The Miami Heat are going star-hunting this offseason, and anytime a big-name player becomes available, it seems as though they are interested. Adding LaVine would help them capitalize on their playoff success from this past year, giving them a much-needed extra outlet on the offensive end.

With the rumors that James Harden could ditch the Philadelphia 76ers in favor of the Houston Rockets, there’s always a chance they choose to chase a replacement. Adding LaVine to play alongside Joel Embiid would help them maintain their offensive success and give the big man a new long-term partner.

6 teams labeled ‘best landing spots’ for Zach LaVine in Bulls trade: Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings were reportedly interested in Bradley Beal, so why wouldn’t they be interested LaVine? They finally snapped their playoff drought this past season, and adding LaVine could help them push forward and attempt to enter the contender circle in the West. (Though they may rather target help on the defensive end.)

6 teams labeled ‘best landing spots’ for Zach LaVine in Bulls trade: Los Angeles Lakers

Like the Heat, if a star becomes available for trade, the Los Angeles Lakers will show an interest. They may not have a great package to send Chicago’s way, but if LaVine hits the market, expect the Lakers to at least make an offer.
