Crypto.com Launches Amy, an AI Companion for Traders

  • Crypto.com’s AI companion Amy will provide real-time data and insights.
  • Amy uses Open.ai’s GPT technology.
  • Crypto.com is just the latest exchange to launch its own chatbot.

AI is the hottest trend in technology this year, and crypto companies are jumping on the bandwagon. Crypto.com is the latest exchange to release its own AI assistant, which aims to help users make better traders.

On Tuesday, May 2, Crypto.com announced launching Amy, an AI-powered user companion, to help them navigate the crypto industry.

Amy: The AI Companion for Crypto Traders

Amy, the GPT-powered chatbot, will users give near real-time information about specific tokens and projects. Users will be able to ask it questions about prices, listings, and events surrounding the tokens.

The chatbot will serve “crypto expert resource for the average user,” writes Crypto.com. The exchange claims that the bot will help users “capture opportunities” in crypto. The exchange specified, however, that Amy does not give investment advice.

Powering Amy is the GPT technology from Open.ai, the company behind the popular general-purpose AI platform ChatGPT. In addition, Crypto.com specifically trained the Amy model on specific case examples involving cryptocurrency.

The project is in its beta phase and is available for select users on the Crypto.com website. However, Crypto.com says that more users will get access to Amy in the coming weeks. The company also has plans to bring the chatbot to its mobile app.

Amy is the latest of Crypto.com’s product launches. These include a derivatives platform for US users, an on-chain staking solution for ETH, DOT, and SOL, and a GEN 3.0 platform overhaul

On the Flipside

  • Crypto.com is not the only exchange that launched similar services. On April 24, Binance launched Binance Sensei, an AI assistant with a similar role to Amy.
  • Companies in other industries are also jumping on the trend. Atlassian, the company behind the productivity software Trello, announced its AI assistant on April 19.
