Holger Rune responds to Amanda Anisimova revealing stunning body-shaming comment

Holger Rune says “hate is weird” after Amanda Anisimova revealed a body-shaming comment she received from one person. Anisimova posted a selfie on her Instagram Story, which led to one person body-shaming her upper body.

“The most unathletic body ever! Narrow shoulders and giant boobs,” the message Anisimova received read. Anisimova screenshotted the message and replied: “I don’t know what to think? Lol. The amount of people who comment on my body every day on social media, will never understand what the hyper fixation is about.

But enjoy your life, I’ll go enjoy mine. Thanks for all the input.”

Rune responds to the Anisimova case

“Hate is weird and makes no sense. Maybe if everyone blocked people writing hate … they would only be them and their hate?” Rune tweeted as a response to the Anisimova post.

In recent years, players have been very vocal about the social media hate and negativity they are receiving.

Just two days after revealing the body-shaming comment, Anisimova announced an indefinite break from tennis to address her mental health. Since last summer, Anisimova has been struggling with her form and she has also lost her last matches in 2023.

On Friday night, Anisimova shared an update to fans, revealing that she has been dealing with mental health issues. Right now, Anisimova’s main priority is to return to a good space mentally. “Hey guys. I thought I’d make a post explaining what’s been going on and my plans.

I’ve really been struggling with my mental health and burnout since the summer of 2022. It’s become unbearable being at tennis tournaments. At this point my priority is my mental well-being and taking a break for some time.

I’ve worked as hard as I could to push through it. I will miss being out there, and I appreciate all the continuous support,” Anisimova wrote on Instagram.
