“Poker Face” is a new mystery series from Rian Johnson, the director of “Knives Out” and “Glass Onion.” The case-of-the-week comedy-drama hits Peacock on January 26.

“Poker Face” is inspired by the “howcatchem” mystery format made famous by the 1970s TV detective show Columbo. The series is centered around Charlie Cale, a casino worker on the run. While going from town to town, each stop has a murder mystery that only Charlie, with her talent as a human lie detector, can solve.

“Poker Face” stars Natasha Lyonne (“Russian Doll”) as Charlie, the protagonist who meets a new cast of characters in each episode. The show also features Adrien Brody (“The Pianist”) as a casino boss, and Benjamin Bratt (“Law & Order”) as the casino’s head of security.

Guest stars in the first season include Stephanie Hsu (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“500 Days of Summer”), Rhea Perlman (“Cheers”), Lil Rel Howery (“Get Out”), Luis Guzmán (“Wednesday”), and more.

How to watch ‘Poker Face’

You can watch “Poker Face” exclusively on Peacock starting January 26, with new episodes dropping each Thursday. As a Peacock original, the series will not be available to stream on any other platforms.

A subscription to Peacock Premium costs $5 a month with ad-supported viewing and access to the steamer’s full library. For $10 a month, you can upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus with ad-free playback and downloadable content.

The Peacock app is compatible with most smart TVs, mobile devices, and media players from major brands like Apple, Roku, Chromecast, and Fire TV. For the full list of supported devices, check out Peacock’s website.

Can I watch ‘Poker Face’ for free?

Though Peacock offers an entry-level plan for free, “Poker Face” is exclusive to the streamer’s paid tiers. Peacock also does not offer trials for its Premium plans, so the series isn’t available to stream for free.

However, if you have Xfinity cable and internet, you can get Peacock Premium at no additional cost, which includes access to “Poker Face.”

How many episodes will ‘Poker Face’ have?

“Poker Face” season one will have 10 episodes in total. The first four episodes will drop on Peacock at 12 a.m. ET on January 26. The following six episodes will release weekly at the same time on Thursdays.

The season one finale of “Poker Face” is expected to premiere March 9 at 12 a.m. ET on Peacock.

Has ‘Poker Face’ been renewed for season 2?

As of January 25, Peacock has not renewed “Poker Face” for a second season yet. However, as a procedural-style mystery, the series’ premise creates the potential for future seasons.

According to Collider, Rian Johnson already has hopes for “Poker Face” to span several seasons at Peacock, as there are “infinite stories to tell.” The decision to renew “Poker Face” likely won’t be made until assessing the overall popularity of the first season.
