Thiago Silva’s wife appears to confirm Chelsea transfer decision amid departure rumours

Thiago Silva’s wife has took to social media to insist her husband is going nowhere amid rumours he could leave Chelsea.

The 38-year-old has spent three years at Stamford Bridge and there were reports that he could leave this summer.

But Belle Silva, Thiago’s wife, posted a video explaining how happy they are in London and want to stay with Chelsea this year.

Taking to social media, she said: “We, my family, my husband, my children and me, we are very, very happy here in London and Chelsea.

“My family and I are blue, are Chelsea and we will stay here! Go Blues!”

Written as a caption on the video, she also put: “Thank you to every single one that came to me for a picture or a song.

“We are VERY happy here. We are staying.”

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea were prepared to allow Silva to return to Brazil if he wanted to.

After a difficult campaign and with no European football in sight, there were rumours the centre-back could return to his homeland with Fluminese.

The Brasileiro Serie A outfit was where Silva started out as a youngster, coming up through their academy before joining RS Futebol, where he made his professional debut.

He did return to the Maracana in 2006 on loan from Dynamo Moscow after failing to impress in Europe before joining permanently the following year.

The Brazil international stayed there a further two years before returning to Europe with AC Milan, where he became a key player before signing for Paris Saint-Germain.

Chelsea snapped up Silva in 2020 after eight years at the Parc des Princes on an initial one-year deal.

But the defender impressed so much that he earned himself another contract, and another this season after becoming an integral part of the squad and in the dressing room.

Even at the age of 38, Silva remains a consummate professional, putting some of his younger colleagues to shame.

In total, he has made 115 appearances for Chelsea in three years, often playing the entire 90 minutes and locking down a strong defence.

Silva’s wife is also a popular figure among the Blues fanbase and gives regular updates on her and her family.

She attends almost every game at Stamford Bridge and is often serenaded by the fans.
