From 1 to 4 October 2010 he was part of the European Ryder Cup squad that won the 2010 Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor in Wales. On April 16, 2017, after 7 years without a win on the European Tour, he won the Hassan II Golf Trophy by beating Irishman Paul Dunne in the Play-off.
