The LIV Golf Washington DC goes to Harold Varner III, who celebrated his first success in the Arab Super League and did so in the USA, where he was born and raised and where he had never managed to establish himself until now.
The American, at the Trump National Golf Club (par 72) in Washington with a total of 204 (64 72 68, -12) strokes, in the individual competition narrowly surpassed the South African Branden Grace, 2/o with 205 (-11) ahead of the Chilean Mito Pereira, 3/o with 206 (-10).

In his 11-year pro career, Varner III celebrated a title in Australia in the Australian PGA Championship (2016, DP World Tour) and one in Saudi Arabia in the PIF Saudi International (2022, Asian Tour).
Now, he has triumphed in the US, crowning a lifelong dream. “It’s a truly special victory, arrived in my country. I will hardly be able to forget this unique moment”, the satisfaction of the 32-year-old from Akron (Ohio). However, he failed to drop the encore in the team competition, closed in 3rd place with “-19” by the “Range Goats GC” led by Bubba Watson.
The “Torque GC” team of Joaquin Niemann, Sebastian Munoz, David Puig and Mito Pereira took the title, with a total of “-27”. LIV Golf, also known as Super Golf League, is a professional golf tour. It was established in 2022 with the support of the Public Investment Fund (the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia).
The Golf Tour competes with the PGA Tour (USA) and the DP World Tour (Europe) and offers significantly higher prize money. The name LIV refers to the total number of holes to be played on each tournament (54 in Roman numerals, representing 3 rounds of 18 holes), as opposed to the usual 72 holes (4 rounds of 18 holes) on other tours .
Alternatively, 54 is the score obtained for birdieing every hole on a par 72 hole. In March 2022, LIV Golf CEO, former professional golfer and former world number one Greg Norman, announced the schedule for the first season of the LIV Golf Invitational Series.
This consists of eight tournaments played over 54 golf courses without a cut. Each tournament consisted of a field of 48 players sorted into 12 teams of four players each. Total prize money was $255 million.
