'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' is dropping a musical episode

If your favorite episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is “Once More, With Feeling,” if you’re obsessed with the “Nightman Cometh” from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and if you just can’t get enough of those musical episodes in Riverdale, you’re in for a treat.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is dropping a new musical episode — the first ever in Star Trek franchise history. Paramount+ released a special preview of Season 2, Episode 9 at San Diego ComicCon, titled “Subspace Rhapsody,” featuring all your favorite characters in song and dance. The new episode will include 10 original songs with music and lyrics by the rock band Letter to Cleo’s Kay Hanley and Tom Polce.

Set your calendars: The episode on Paramount+ on August 3.
