Absent from the 2024 DP World Tour calendar, the Nedbank Golf Challenge will make its return for the Race to Dubai 2025. And for the two following editions, with players from the… FedEx Cup in its field.

Nedbank Golf Challenge, schedule

Scheduled from November 9 to 12, as a royal “aperitif” before the final in Dubai the following week, the Nedbank Golf Challenge no longer appears in the 2024 calendar of the DP World Tour, the exercise of which is planned to take place conclude as usual in the United Arab Emirates on November 17, 2024.The South African event created in 1981 and dear to its ambassador, the legendary Gary Player, will however return to the 2025 European Tour calendar.

It will in fact be part of the Race to Dubai 2025 and will launch the season in December… 2024. Like the events organized on the PGA Tour in honor of Jack Nicklaus (Memorial Tournament) and Arnold Palmer (Arnold Palmer Invitational) , the Nedbank Golf Challenge will be officially organized in honor of the great South African champion, one of five golfers to have won all four Grand Slam tournaments (along with Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods).“It is with a deep sense of gratitude that we can look forward to the future of a tournament which, more than four decades later, is a dream shared and appreciated by so many people”, underlined during the signing this Monday September 11 Gary Player, more than 150 professional victories to his credit during a brilliant career spanning 70 years. While the precise date of the tournament in December 2024 has not yet been decided, we already know that several FedEx Cup players will be part of the field, in addition to exempt members of the DP World Tour. The Rules of Golf are a set of standard rules and procedures by which the sport of golf should be played.

They are jointly written and administered by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body of golf throughout the world, outside of the United States and Mexico, which are the jurisdiction of the United States Golf Association.

An expert commission made up of members of the R&A and USGA oversees and refines the rules every four years. The latest revision is effective January 1, 2016. Changes to the rules of golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding and those that in certain cases reduce penalties to ensure balance.

The rule book, entitled “Rules of Golf”, is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy it is up to Federgolf to supervise the competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and managing the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
