“I’m playing the best tennis of my career”

“I’m playing the best tennis of my career, maybe. I would say I’m playing better tennis, in general. You have to try to take advantage of the opportunities that come your way, that’s life. I think I’m still one of the candidates for big titles : I have proven it in recent months.

If I do everything correctly, opportunities will come. Every player experiences a different situation. There were times when I thought I could have and do everything. Over time I have understood what my strengths are, both on and off the court. I have learned to find the balance to manage all the moments. The most important thing is to live in the present: you have to be 100% in all moments.”

During an interview with Tennis Channel, Grigor Dimitrov opened up about the moment he is experiencing. the Bulgarian tennis player has been showing fantastic tennis since the end of last season. Positive sensations also confirmed by the excellent start of 2024.

Dimitrov has recently reached the 4th round of the Miami Open, beating Yannick Hanfmann 6-1 6-0 and now, in the round of 16 of the ATP Masters 1000 in Florida, there will be a challenge against Hubert Hurkacz.

In the interview with Tennis Channel, Dimitrov expressed his thoughts on the fact that for the first time in history there are no players with a one-handed backhand in the top 10.

“It’s a very complicated shot. To have a great one-handed backhand you have to play it from the beginning. It’s a shot that I would continue to teach,” he told.

The rebirth of Grigor Dimitrov

It is from the first tournaments played in China last year that Grigor Dimitrov seems to have given life to what could be defined as his super tennis moment. The Bulgarian tennis player has returned to playing tennis at the highest level with continuity.

In Beijing came the victory against Holger Rune and the excellent performance with Jannik Sinner. In Shanghai the success against Carlos Alcaraz and an important semi-final.

At the end of the season, however, his incredible journey at the ATP Masters 1000 in Paris-Bercy was interrupted only in the final, because Novak Djokovic’s triumph.

At the start of 2024 things have not changed and Dimitrov has returned to win a title on the major circuit after more than six years in Brisbane.
