Alize Lim reveals Novak Djokovic’s gentlemantly gesture in Monte Carlo

Alize Lim took to Instagram to reveal Novak Djokovic’s gentlemanly gesture as the Frenchwoman revealed that the Serbian tennis star offered his jacket after realizing that she was feeling cold while conducting their interview.

Lim, a former world No. 135, has been a part of Eurosport’s tennis coverage team for quite some time now. This week, Lim arrived in Monte Carlo to cover the opening Masters event of the season for Eurosport France.

During the weekend, world No. 1 Djokovic was one of the players Lim had on her interview list. But since it was close to the evening when they started their interview and the temperatures dropped, 33-year-old Lim started feeling cold.

That’s when the record 24-time Grand Slam champion came to the rescue.

“I was cold so I stole Novak’s jacket (laughing emoji). Just kidding, he was being a gentleman,” Lim captioned her Instagram Story.

Djokovic came to Monte Carlo with humble expectations

So far this season, Djokovic is 8-3 and he hasn’t won any titles, which is certainly surprising. After losing in the Australian Open semifinal and then suffering a shock Indian Wells Masters third-round loss to Luca Nardi, Djokovic claimed he arrived in Monte Carlo with low expectations and that his primary goal was trying to get some form and rhythm at the start of the clay season.

“My expectations are not very high, with the way I have been playing this year at the tournaments and also the results that I had in Monaco in previous years were not great, so I keep my expectations low,” Djokovic said.

“For me, it is about building my game on clay courts and trying to reach the peak again. For some players like myself, it requires a little more time to reach the top level of tennis.”

In Monte Carlo, Djokovic is a four-time finalist and a two-time champion.

It remains to be seen if Monte Carlo will be the tournament where Djokovic turns the page in 2024.
