Manchester City will host Chelsea in what promises to be a mouth-watering third round tie as the FA Cup takes centre-stage this weekend.

The draw for the famous third round was made in late November and pitted the Premier League giants against each other at the Etihad Stadium.

Premier League leaders Arsenal will go to League One outfit Oxford United, while holders Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw against Wolves on Saturday.

Newcastle United served up the biggest shock as their unbeaten run stretching back to August was ended by Sheffield Wednesday in a 2-1 defeat.

Blackpool thrashed Nottingham Forest 4-1, while Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Brentford also crashed out.

But Tottenham and Leicester managed to overcome Portsmouth and Gillingham, respectively, while Southampton, Brighton, Fulham and West Ham made it through to the fourth round.

National League Boreham Wood’s secured a replay against Accrington Stanley thanks to a 1-1 draw.

Fifth tier leaders Wrexham beat Coventry 4-3 and Chesterfield secured a 3-3 draw with West Brom.

Meanwhile, League Two side Stevenage will go to Aston Villa.
