Chelsea agree British record fee for Fernandez, Marcel Sabitzer ‘excited’ after joining Man United on loan from Bayern Munich, Arsenal announce Jorginho

A historic transfer deadline day has finally slammed shut to complete a record breaking month of spending in the Premier League.

A bank breaking January window has seen England’s top-flight clubs spend well in excess of £500million and more deals are still being confirmed after the 11pm deadline.

Chelsea smashed the British transfer record to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for a fee of around £115m hours after sanctioning Jorginho’s move to Arsenal.

Tottenham have also been busy – allowing Matt Doherty to leave for Atletico Madrid and Djed Spence to join Rennes on loan to make way for new signing Pedro Porro, while Man United snapped up Marcel Sabitzer at the eleventh hour.
