‘I want to max out in what I do in my profession’

Mentality is not at odds with honesty. Stefanos Tsitsipas reached the final of the Australian Open at a very high level, both tennis and confidence, but he could do little to stop an inspired Novak Djokovic. The Greek tennis player, 24 years old and current number 4 in the world, had no problem admitting that right now the Serb is a much better player and even dared to say that he is the “best tennis player in history”.

Well, the numbers are clear. After his battle, on the court of the Rod Laver Arena, Tsitsipas filled him with praise to the executioner in his second Grand Slam final played. “Novak, I don’t know what to say. Everything you have achieved speaks for itself.

Congratulations. I admire everything you have done for our sport, you make me a better player on the court. I have worked all my life to play these types of matches. He’s the greatest to ever pick up a racket. I would like to thank you for improving our sport.

It’s not easy, another Grand Slam final, but I’m always ready to go out and fight again. I am happy to have a great team around me,” he said to the audience present. The Greek had no problem ensuring that Djokovic is the GOAT, the same one that wins the individual battle by far.

In total, both players have seen each other 13 times, where the Serbian has won 11 and lost only two. There are already nine wins in a row for the number one in the world against one of the main references of the NextGen.

Tsitsipas was on a roll in the year’s first Grand Slam

Stefanos Tsitsipas is determined to become the World No.

1 tennis player despite a heartbreaking loss in the 2023 Australian Open final. “I want to max out in what I do in my profession. No. 1 is on my mind. It doesn’t come easy, I know that,” Stefanos Tsitsipas said. “It’s my time to aim for something like this.

I don’t see any reason to be lowering my expectations or my goals. I am born a champion. I can feel it in my blood. I can feel it as a competitive kid that I was when I was young. It’s something that is within me,” Stefanos Tsitsipas said.

“I want to harvest that, make it bloom, make it even stronger and fonder, work hard towards those goals. It’s that beautiful number, the number ‘1’, that will make things extremely emotional when converting that,” he added.
