The BBC may have been forced to pull the plug on Saturday’s football coverage, but fear not, as talkSPORT is here to save the day.
In fact, we have sent a bit of a reminder to our national broadcasters that talkSPORT – the world’s biggest sports radio station – are here to help.
The BBC have seen their schedule torn to shreds following the huge backlash to their ongoing dispute with presenter Gary Lineker.
The popular England legend was forced to step back from Match of the Day due to comments made about the UK government’s new asylum policy.
This led to a mass boycott of Match of the Day by other presenters, pundits, commentators, players and managers – meaning that the rest of the BBC’s football programming is being affected across TV and radio.
This included Football Focus, Final Score and BBC Radio Five Live’s Saturday afternoon output.
It meant talkSPORT was the place to be for full coverage of Saturday’s Premier League action on the radio.
Meanwhile, the BBC will be forced to air a stripped back version of Match of the Day on Saturday night, with no commentary and no match analysis – and the entire programme is set to be just 20 minutes long.
So, who else better to step in than our very own, the ever reliable, Alan Barnard Brazil?
Well, we sent a little invitation down to the BBC’s London headquarters, just to see if they needed a bit of a helping hand with their evening programming.
Hungry for a football fix tonight? talkSPORT will have you covered. No match of the day, no problem.
We’ve made a change to our schedule, too – at 10:30pm this evening talkSPORT will bring you ‘Game of the Day’ – every single Premier League game dissected, analysed and comprehensively covered with a cheeky TalkSPORT twist.
It will feature Sam Matterface on hosting duties, and top analysis from ex-Chelsea duo Jason Cundy and Scott Minto, as they look back on all the day’s top flight action.
We’re here to make sure the football-loving British public get the Premier League show they deserve.
Most importantly, there will be no censorship of opinion across the talkSPORT network, giving football fans and pundits the freedom to express their views with no threat of sanction.
Tune into talkSPORT from 10:30pm tonight for ‘Game of the Day’ as we look back on today’s Premier League action.
Listen on DAB, the TalkSPORT APP, ask your smart speaker to play TalkSPORT or watch live on the TalkSPORT YouTube page.
