Romanian tennis player Andreea Prisacariu came to Novak Djokovic’s defense after the latest case of the Serb being accused of faking injuries. After Djokovic stunningly lost five consecutive games and Tallon Griekspoor won the opening set of their Paris Masters match with a 6-4 scoreline, the world No 1 took a medical timeout.
The doctor came to the court and it appeared that Djokovic was given something. But some thought that Djokovic was just pulling off sneaky tricks and trying to throw Griekspoor off his game after the Dutch won the first set.
“These people who are saying that Nole is faking injuries. I have a question for y’all. Why when only he calls for doctor suddenly you all come out and say he is faking? But when others do it is completely fine? This just shows the jealousy you have towards him.
And by the way, just so you know. Even the number 1 in the world is allowed to feel bad or a bit weak on court. He is human. AND I believe that Djoko is one of a few that actually know what sportsmanship looks like. So don’t start complaining about how he calls the doctor.

Prisacariu defends Djokovic, who battled a stomach issue
After the medical timeout, Djokovic went on to complete a 4-6 7-6 (2) 6-4 win over Griekspoor.
Afterward, Djokovic revealed that he was bothered by a stomach issue. “I’ve been struggling the last couple of days with my stomach and I just didn’t feel myself at all. I was just trying to hold my serve and get to a tie-break, which happened in the second.
I got lucky on a couple of shots there. It could have easily gone his way, but overall I played a good tie-break and I started to feel better in the third. I’m really, really glad to overcome this challenge,” Djokovic said after the match.
