World no. 5 Andrey Rublev will compete at the ATP Finals for the fourth straight year. Andrey joined Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner, who punched the Turin tickets before him. Rublev took down Matteo Arnaldi in the second round in Vienna, delivering his 52nd victory of the season and securing a place at the premium ATP event.
Andrey reached the Australian Open quarter-final at the beginning of the season, spoiling that result with four early losses. The Russian fell in the Dubai final to Daniil Medvedev before early losses in Indian Wells and Miami.
Andrey celebrated a Masters 1000 title in Monte Carlo and played in the Banja Luka final before losing his form, experiencing early defeats in Madrid, Rome and Paris. Rublev played well on grass, losing the Halle final to Alexander Bublik and the Wimbledon quarter-final against the seven-time champion Novak Djokovic.

Andrey’s second title of the season came in Bastad on clay, with a couple of poor results before the US Open quarter-final, still missing a Major semi-final after many attempts!
Rublev experienced a tight loss in Beijing before raising his level in Shanghai, reaching his second Masters 1000 final of the season. The Russian met Hubert Hurkacz in the title clash and wasted a match point in a heartbreaking 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 loss.
Both players served above 70%, firing 34 aces and staying neck and neck from start to finish, with only one point separating them! The Pole played better behind the first serve, and the Russian responded with more reliable numbers on the second.
Hubert saved one of two break points, and Andrey stayed in contention after denying three of four break chances. Hurkacz edged Rublev in the shortest range up to four strokes, and a top-10 star responded in the more advanced exchanges, giving everything and missing that match point.
Andrey is back in action in Vienna, winning two matches and reaching the quarter-final. Rublev is 4-6 at the ATP Finals, losing in the round-robin stage in 2020 and 2021 and reaching the semi-final a year ago. Andrey beat Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas, advancing into the last four and falling to Casper Ruud.
“It feels great. It’s great news. After the match, I did not know that I would qualify with the win. It’s a great feeling and great news. I’m looking forward to it and happy to be part of the Nitto ATP Finals for one more year,” Andrey Rublev said.
