Arsenal v Manchester United LIVE: Premier League’s leaders face Erik ten Hag’s high-flying Red Devils in season-defining clash at the Emirates

Arsenal host Manchester United in what could be a season-defining clash for both sides this weekend.

Arsenal sit top of the Premier League table, eight points clear of Manchester City after the Red Devils beat the champions 2-1 at the weekend before the Gunners secured a 2-0 win against Tottenham.

Arsenal have lost one league game all season and that was against Man United

But if they were to lose to Man United for the second time this season, Erik ten Hag’s side would find themselves six points behind Arsenal and well in the title race.

United have won five consecutive league games and only conceded two goals in that time, so this will be a stern test for the hosts.

The reverse tie ended in a 3-1 win for United despite the hosts being dominated for large spells.

And Ten Hag’s side are a much better side than they were, meaning we should be in for a cracker between the Premier League giants.

Arsenal v Man United: Team news

Bukayo Saka managed to shake off a knock to star in the Tottenham win, while Emile Smith Rowe came off the bench for the latter stages with the Gunners close in on having a full squad.

But they will still be without Gabriel Jesus, with the Brazilian still recovering from knee surgery.

However, Eddie Nketiah has performed brilliantly in his place and will lead the line once more.

The visitors have more injury concerns and will definitely be without Donny van de Beek, Axel Tuanzebe and Jadon Sancho.

Diogo Dalot is still struggling with a hamstring problem and Anthony Martial has picked up another knock.

Arsenal v Man United: What has been said?

Mikel Arteta speaking after Arsenal’s win over Tottenham: “I’m very happy for two reasons.

“One, because I saw a team with a lot of courage, determination and quality, and that really wanted it today, to come here and win the game. And the other one, because we have a job where we are really privileged that we can make a lot of people happy and when you have this opportunity, you have to try to do it.

“So, the enjoyment of sharing the victory with the fans was a great feeling and then everything that we do, all the suffering, the hours of work, it makes a lot of sense when you have moments like this.”
