Aryna Sabalenka sounds off on Cincinnati organizers prioritizing Carlos Alcaraz

Aryna Sabalenka called out the Cincinnati organizers for prioritizing Carlos Alcaraz and not giving her much time to recover for her semifinal match against Karolina Muchova. On Friday night, Sabalenka sealed a 7-5 6-3 win over Ons Jabeur in the Cincinnati quarterfinal.

Today, Sabalenka is scheduled to start her Cincinnati semifinal match against Muchova at 01:30 pm local time. Alcaraz, who finished his quarterfinal match earlier than Sabalenka, is scheduled to play his semifinal match after the Sabalenka and Muchova match ends.

Sabalenka feels the Cincinnati organizers could have definitely organized better their semifinal day schedule.

Sabalenka calls out the Cincinnati organizers

“I’m super happy to be in the semifinals. Super happy to get this win back.

The only thing I was worried is the schedule. Everyone was complaining about the schedule in Montreal. Just the same thing happen here. I was really disappointed. Why they would make this decision… why [Carlos] Alcaraz at 3 pm? I mean, I understand this is Alcaraz, everyone wants to see him play.

They put him at 6. I just played the match not before 7. Finish, what, 9? I have to play one again tomorrow. I was thinking at least 3 pm. Just the only thing that makes me worried,” Sabalenka said.Meanwhile, Sabalenka is set to meet Muchova for the first time since losing to the Czech in this year’s French Open semifinal.

Going into their Cincinnati meeting, Sabalenka hopes to make amends for the loss she suffered at Roland Garros a few months ago.“I actually think this surface is really good for her style of game. But probably I felt more confidence on the hard court against her.

I kind of know her a little bit better. I hope I’m going to take this win back. At least I’ll do everything I can, everything that is in my hands to get this win back,” Sabalenka said of meeting Muchova.
