Auburn women’s team will challenge Texas Tech, on Sunday


Auburn women’s tennis team will face their first dual road match of the season tomorrow, Sunday, February 5, 2023, against Texas Tech, in Lubbock. The game will begin Sunday at 11:00 CT at the McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock.

The match will be played outdoors, if weather conditions permit. As reported by the Auburn University website, Tigers seized the opportunity to play their first five double-games at home, going 4-1 with wins ranked over No.

22 Iowa State and No. 23 UCF and their only loss it was against #2 North Carolina. Kaitlyn Carnicella has already claimed the SEC Freshman of the Week title twice in her first two weeks. Freshman Angella Okutoyi and junior Adeline Flach both got off to a strong start to their 2023 campaigns, as they each hold 3-1 singles records.

Auburn has already seen Texas Tech this spring when the two squared off in a hidden double event at Dual in the Desert. In that event against Texas Tech, the Tigers claimed five of seven singles games played and one of three doubles games played.
