Bob Ryan is happy for Grant Williams signing with the Dallas Mavericks

A great many Boston Celtics fans are not fans of the trade that sent restricted free agent forward Grant Williams to the Dallas Mavericks. Famed Boston sports journalist Bob Ryan is not among them.

In a recent episode of his eponymous CLNS Media “Bob Ryan, Jeff Goodman and Gary Tanguay” podcast, Ryan reacted to the Williams trade, expressing support for the Charlotte native and acknowledging his potential in the NBA.

Ryan believes Williams made a wise decision by accepting a four-year deal from the Mavs worth $53 million, potentially becoming part of a championship team’s rotation in the longer run. The podcast host speaks highly of Williams’ value as an NBA player with high character.
