Brahim Diaz scores inside opening ten minutes to put Serie A giants ahead against injury-hit Spurs in Champions League round of 16

Tottenham head to Italy tonight off the back of a dreadful 4-1 defeat against Leicester to face AC Milan in the Champions League.

UEFA’s premier competition is back for the knockout stages and Spurs play the defending Serie A champions for a place in the quarter-finals.

Antonio Conte’s men topped their group and have never lost a competitive game against Milan.

But they have lost four of their last seven matches in the league, so will need to step things up against the Rossoneri.

However, Milan aren’t having the greatest season – they finished behind Chelsea in their Champions League group and are currently fifth in Serie A, 18 points behind leaders Napoli.

Stefano Pioli’s side have only won one of their last eight in all competitions, and this is a big opportunity for Spurs to take a healthy lead back to north London for the return leg.
