In a recent episode of All on the table, the UTS programme, in a special three-way Christmas dinner with the former world number 2 Casper Ruud and another extroverted player like Benoit Paire, the Kazakh tennis player Alexander Bublik indulged in some pretty hilarious tales.
There are many topics covered by the three tennis players. From the consumption of alcohol and cigarettes, to some anecdotes about rivals and stories from their own careers. Initially Bublik joked with his Norwegian colleague, saying that he had to take inspiration from him, capable of fighting for the world number one and winning 10 ATP 250s, as well as playing three slam finals and one at the ATP Finals.
Then the 26-year-old Kazakh took a dig at Bernabé Zapata Miralles: “I like training, the problem is when you enter the pitch and you have Zapata Miralles screaming in your face. Dude, calm down, what are we playing here? Look at the tournament information sheet, you will lose in the second round!” A sentence that made the other two guests burst out laughing, especially the French tennis player, who added: “Maybe he can reach the quarter-finals.” Almost an hour of discussion and laughter, with the three tennis players enjoying dinner and telling some really interesting stories.

Bublik criticizes McEnroe after exclusion in Laver Cup
In a recent interview, Bublik criticized John McEnroe, coach of the World team at the Laver Cup, who in his opinion has a bias towards certain countries.
“It seems that the World team is only made up of America, Canada, Australia and South America. Diego Schwartzman was world number 10 at the time, so it was impossible not to take him. I made my wish, I would like to play and I love team events, but for some reason I am now sure that the world is all English-speaking. I will be happy if he reads this,” he told Essentially Sports.
