The Spanish golfer Carolina López-Chacarra was proclaimed this Wednesday NCAA team champion with the University of Wake Forest and assured that this great victory is recognition of all her effort and work.

“I believe that this victory comes from all the hours of training that we have put in.
It is an incredible feeling, it is difficult to explain in words,” she told the media. “All the members of the team add up. In the end it is impossible to win this with only one player: you need five. And I think we have known how to do it,” she added.
López-Chacarra and her teammates from the Wake Forest team took the title by defeating USC at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale (Arizona, USA). This is the first college championship for Wake Forest. The Spaniard stressed that it was a “very long week” with seven rounds and in “adverse” conditions with heat, wind, departures both in the morning and in the afternoon, etc.
“In the end I think it’s hard work but it’s worth it,” she explained. López-Chacarra also highlighted the value of competing and winning collectively. “To do it for someone else, to do it for a team, it pushes you and inspires you.
To say: ‘I’m not only here for myself but for my teammates and for all the work we’ve put in,'” she argued. Finally, the golfer pointed out that now her priority is to finish university and get her academic degree before trying her luck in the professional circuit.
“Then I would like to try to be a professional, give everything out there and fight to fulfill my dreams. And I hope I can do it,” she said. The Rules of Golf are a set of standard rules and procedures by which the sport of golf should be played.
They are jointly written and maintained by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the governing body for golf worldwide, outside of the United States and Mexico, which are governed by the United States Golf Association.
An expert commission made up of members of the R&A and USGA, oversees and refines the rules every four years. The latest revision has been in force since January 1, 2016. Changes to the rules of golf generally fall into two main categories: those that improve understanding and those that in certain cases reduce penalties to ensure balance.
The rule book, entitled “Rules of Golf”, is published on a regular basis and also includes rules governing amateur status. In Italy it is up to Federgolf to supervise the competitions by enforcing the rules issued by the R & A, checking that these rules are observed by the Clubs, Associations and their members and manages the resulting sporting justice, protecting their interests abroad.
