Christianity Is Under Attack, ‘Passion Of The Christ’ Star Jim Caviezel Warns

Jim Caviezel, who famously portrayed Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson’s classic 2004 movie The Passion Of The Christ, is speaking out to warn that Christianity is under attack in America.

Caviezel Issues Warning On Christianity

“The problem is that modern day Christianity has become so weak and useless,” Caviezel, 54, explained to Fox News. “I mean, modern day Christians are more afraid of the devil than they are of God. God could destroy the devil without a glance, but he looks to us to make a decision.”

Caviezel went on to allege that Americans “don’t want” God in the country’s religion and universities, which he claims has caused “moral decay” in society.

“So, you have moral depravity. I mean, moral decay everywhere, falling apart,” he continued. “Laws don’t mean anything anymore. We don’t have a First Amendment…There’s no such thing as free speech anymore. You’re absolutely destroyed everywhere, and the media throws out everybody’s a racist.”

Caviezel also admitted that he is seen as “controversial” in Hollywood because unlike other celebrities, he isn’t afraid to speak his mind.

“Why is it controversial – what I say or speak on?” he said. “I guess not all controversial people are evil, but that’s how you’re trained now.”

Experts Speak Out

Experts have long been trying to warn that anti-Christian hostilities are at “unprecedented” levels in Joe Biden’s America.

“I think it’s just a rise in secularism in the United States,” Arielle Del Turco, assistant director of the Center for Religious Liberty at the Family Research Council (FRC), told Fox News back in April.

“As secularism increases, people just understand religion less and less, they have less of the respect for religion that they might have had decades ago,” she continued. “All of these are increasingly in conflict with core Christian teachings and core Christian beliefs. So, the left is getting increasingly intolerant of Christianity for this reason, and I think we’re seeing that even being represented physically with these physical attacks on churches.”

Del Turco went on to place some of the blame for anti-Christian sentiments on President Biden directly.

“I think even the public discourse — the way that President Biden talks about Christians or people who might oppose some of these secular dogmas — creates a really dangerous environment where people feel increasingly comfortable lashing out against churches,” she said.

Caviezel Promotes Sound Of Freedom

Caviezel is currently promoting his new hit movie Sound of Freedom, which tells the true story of the former federal agent Tim Ballard’s battle to fight save children from being trafficked. Many actors passed on the lead role of Ballard, but the real-life former agent is grateful that the “amazing” Caviezel ended up playing him.

“They passed. And I believe things happen for a reason,” Ballard himself said. “Thank God that they passed, because Jim Caviezel is amazing. This guy is not only an amazing actor, but he’s passionate about this.”

Caviezel explained that he chose to do this movie because he wants to be part of projects that have a “moral redemption.”

“The purpose God gave me in this business, I wanted to bring his light,” he explained. “And it doesn’t mean I’m always his light into an industry. And I wanted to do that, but it doesn’t mean that I’m not going to play the devil in movies. Just there’s got to be some sort of moral redemption.”

“But the math is so wrong now,” Caviezel added. “It just seems [the devil’s] evil is winning right now.”

Caviezel Remains Devoted To God

Caviezel is well aware that his fellow stars in Hollywood may choose to abandon him based on his views, but that won’t stop him from continuing to follow God.

“I may not have any friends around me when this is over, but I’ll have [God],” Caviezel said. “He won’t leave me. I’ll be looking at him at that point. When I do leave this earth, at least I gave the best I could from God, you know, and my Father in heaven. And I want the world to know I love him. And maybe that’s evil to them. Not to me, but to them.”

These truly are some dangerous times to be a Christian in America, so we applaud Caviezel for having the courage to go against the radically liberal world of Hollywood by calling this out. We know that there are many more Christian stars out there who are remaining silent during this trying time, and if we are truly to combat what’s happening in today’s culture, we need them to start speaking out as well.
