The American Cydney Clanton led an authoritative lead race and won with 199 (63 68 68, -17) shots the Guardian Championship, an event of the Epson Tour which took place on the Capitol Hill Golf Club course (par 72 ) in Prattville, Alabama.

With a good performance Angelica Moresco ranked 18th with 207 (67 70 70, -9) in the match which was suspended in the first two rounds, while Roberta Liti, 61st with 142 (73 69, -2), was exit to the cut for a single shot. Definitely a surprise after last week’s second place in the Black Desert Resort Championship.

The winner beat the Chinese Miranda Wang by two strokes (201, -15) and by four six competitors in third position with 203 (-13): Carley Cox, Karen Chung, the Chinese Michelle Zhang, the Mexican Isabella Fierro, the Thai Siri Patchana and the Russian Nataliya Guseva, scored in the Black Desert Resort Championship.

In ninth with 204 (-12) Jessica Porvasnik and South African Kaleigh Telfer.Cydney Clanton. The 34-year-old from Concord (North Carolina), professional since 2011, is at his third title on the Epson Tour (after those in the Four Winds Invitational, 2013, and in the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout, 2019) where he also obtained 18 top tens, but boasts also a success on the LPGA Tour (Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational, 2019) in which she finished in the top ten on nine occasions.

In the final round you made a partial 68 (-4) with twelve holes on par (two birdies and two bogeys) and with a decisive acceleration in the last six with four birdies. With the title she received a check for 30,000 dollars, out of a prize pool of 200,000 dollars, and rose to 27th place in the Race For The Card (order of merit), still far from the top ten who will give the right to those who will occupy them at the end of the season, to a ‘card’ for the 2024 LPGA Tour.

Despite the cut she suffered, Roberta Liti remained in sixth position with an advantage of just over 22,000 dollars over those in eleventh (Miranda Wang). As for Angelica Moresco, she concluded her beautiful match with a 70 (-2, five birdies, a bogey, a double bogey) with some regret for the double bogey on the last green without which she would have finished eleventh.

Her goal, of course, is to maintain the ‘card’ to play on the Epson Tour again in 2024. She is currently 75th on the money list.
