Diego Schwartzman has expressed his disappointment at the elimination of the Cordoba tournament from the 2025 ATP schedule. The Argentine tennis player, idol of the tournament in Cordoba, wanted to express his disappointment at the decision to sacrifice one of the most representative tournaments of his country.
“The ATP decision to remove an ATP 250 from Argentina and the entire region is confirmed. From 4 tournaments to just 3. Taking away tournaments and opportunities from all of South America I don’t see it as a great decision. Such a shame,” he wrote on his X account.
Se confirma la decisión de @atptour de sacar un atp250 a argentina y a toda la región… de 4 torneos a solamente 3… sacarle torneos y posibilidades a todo sudamerica no veo que sea una gran decisión. Una pena.

ATP has published the schedule for the 2025 season. Various innovations will be introduced on the Tour from next year. For some tournaments that will see the light for the first time, others have been cut from the schedule.
One of these is the ATP 250 in Cordoba, a historic event that has been part of the Tour for years, but which will now be canceled to streamline a busy calendar of commitments for tennis players, who are called to real physical marathons.

Schwartzman talks about his black tennis moment
The Argentine, who has sunk beyond the hundredth position in the ATP ranking, is not having a good time, tennis-wise.
In one of the last interviews he gave, he admitted that he suffers from the inability to be competitive, thanks to his advancing age and the high level of his opponents.
“There are days when I don’t feel like doing anything, but there are days when I think: It’s today, and I’m going out there to work. Regardless of what may happen this year, good or bad, I am aware that I still don’t have much in the tank, but with the victories I can stretch it a little more. Victory always generates something different in your body, with defeat everything costs a little more, it’s a painful process that wears you out,” he explained.
