Emma Raducanu hilariously attempted to pronounce something in an Australian accent before bursting into laughter and describing her attempt as “awful.” During this year’s Australian Open, Raducanu filmed a short clip for the tournament’s channel.
“Tell us your best Aussie accent?” the interviewer asked Raducanu. Raducanu responded: “I got one phrase: ‘G’day mate!'” The interviewer wanted to see if Raducanu could give something more and asked the Briton: “Do you reckon you can do a latte order in an Aussie accent?” Raducanu tried her best to make an order in an Australian accent: “Uh…
I’ll have an almond milk flat white. No. That was awful! Stop! (bursts into laughter).”

Will Raducanu play at the Australian Open?
Raducanu, who turned 21 on Monday, hasn’t played since May and undergoing surgeries on both wrists and her right ankle.
For the past couple of months, it was believed that Raducanu was targeting to return to action at the start of the 2024 season. Recently, Raducanu confirmed that her intention is indeed to play again in 2024, specifically at the start of the new season.
However, Raducanu made no guarantees or promises that she would indeed be able to play again at the start of 2024. According to some reports from British media, Raducanu is being extra cautious with her comeback and she could skip the Australian Open and return at a later date if she feels that’s the right thing to do.
Recently, Raducanu highlighted that not playing since April hasn’t been easy for her. “I think the biggest thing from the last few months was how much I missed the sport. I think that was the standout thing – how much I missed training, how much I missed my body hurting and feeling tired and dragging yourself through certain exercises when you don’t feel like it,” Raducanu recently told BBC Radio 4.
