Eugenie Bouchard is joining Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz in participating in The Netflix Slam, the Canadian announced.

In December, it was announced that Nadal and Alcaraz would be clashing off against each other on March 3rd at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas. While it is an outstanding matchup on paper, the match will also be very specific due to the fact that it will be the first-ever tennis match broadcasted live on Netflix.

Now, the organizers have decided to add something extra to the event and have 2014 Wimbledon finalist Bouchard taking part in a mixed doubles match. In Las Vegas, Bouchard will be teaming up with doubles icon Mike Bryan as they will be taking on Asia Muhammad and Bob Bryan.

“Vegas, see you soon! I’m teaming up with @mikecbryan at #TheNetflixSlam on March 3rd to take down @bryanbros & @asia.muhammad @MGMRewards,” Bouchard announced on Instagram.

Bouchard set for The Netflix Slam after her pickleball debut

Bouchard, who last played a WTA event in September in Guadalajara, made her pro pickleball debut this month at the PPA Tour Hyundai Masters in Palm Springs. In her pickleball debut, Bouchard didn’t really impress, as she exited the competition on the opening day after competing in the singles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles matches.

“Look, pickleball is crazy. It’s wild for me to just play a completely different sport,” Bouchard said after her pickleball debut.

After making her pickleball debut, the 29-year-old Canadian admitted she is probably making tennis moves when playing pickleball.

“I’ve played tennis for 25 years now, and so my brain is like wired for tennis. So I like either completely whiff the ball or I just hit the tip of the paddle and miss my shot,” Bouchard added.

While Bouchard is now listed as a pro pickleball player, she has indicated that she may not be done with pro tennis.

“I’m very excited to just challenge myself with this new pickle chapter and then still remain in the tennis world that I love,” Bouchard said.

It will be interesting to see how will Bouchard look on a tennis court in March when she takes part in The Netflix Slam.
