The article in question defined the details of the incident, clarifying that there is no link with the UEFA Champions League final.
Instead, it would have been a technical problem that prevented the tennis player from notifying WADA of the change of delivery precisely on the days when he was in Rome for the Internazionali. The player’s entourage has made it known that the missed check dates back to May 9, a month before the final in Istanbul (a match he watched live).
The night before he had tried to change domicile, given that he was reported to Arma di Taggia (in Italy), but the WADA portal was blocked. Although Fognini then provided some screenshots that served as evidence, the Anti-Doping officials rejected his defense, continuing the notification of lack of control.
