In this year’s Ryder Cup held in Rome, the US team suffered a defeat against the European team. The US team looked unrecognizable. The majority of the players were incapable of imposing their pace and showing their true strength.
There was this appearance of a listless, worn down, and devoid of motivation on the part of the US team. As a result of this kind of performance, rumors started to spread, and many people began to wonder whether there had been (or if there still is) a conflict within the US team.
The captain of the team, Zach Johnson, has stated many times in the press that unity, harmony, and peace reign in the team’s ranks. Even so, some do not trust such statements too much. As a result of the journalists’ writings about the conflict within the US team, Fred Couples responded.
During his talk on the Sirius XFM radio show, Couples stressed that you shouldn’t believe the headlines.
“Don’t believe all this c,” Couples said on his Sirius XFM radio show, as quoted by golfmonthly.com!
“These guys, they’re all together”.

Despite years of highlighting a conflict among the US team, Couples laughed at such headlines many times. There has always been a sense of harmony within the team, according to him, and there have been no such conflicts in the past.
In his remarks, he pointed out that the European team is composed of golfers from all the Europe, and so the concept of ‘unity’ can be questioned there.
“It just gets old that we’re so bad in the team rooms. I mean, it’s laughable.
Is there a better team room than theirs because they won and they’re all from different countries? I don’t know. They’re all great guys. Our team is phenomenal. I mean, I sat there every night and watched them”.
