Inbee Park, 35, has been retired from the fairways since the summer of 2022, following her last appearance at the AIG Women’s British Open. She is now aiming for one of four places on the Olympic Committee’s Athletes’ Commission.
Voting will take place this summer during the Paris 2024 Games.

Park is an Olympics regular, having won gold in Rio in 2016, marking golf’s return to the Olympic fold after a 112-year absence. Among the 32 candidates to join the IOC Athletes’ Commission, she figures prominently.
Voting will take place at the Olympic Village in Paris during the Games, where four athletes from four different sports will be elected by their peers for an eight-year term. Mother of a little girl since April 2023, Park retired after the AIG Women’s British Open in August 2022, played in Muirfield (Scotland) and won by South African Ashleigh Buhai.
Inbee Park is one of the most successful players in the history of women’s golf, with seven Grand Slam victories to her name, including three in 2013 (Kraft Nabisco, Women’s PGA Championship and US Women’s Open). She was also ranked world No.
