Manchester City star Aymeric Laporte delighted fans with a hilarious tweet of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson after Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat against Brighton.
The Gunners were outclassed at the Emirates Stadium to leave the Citizens on the cusp of retaining the Premier League title for a second successive time.
City now sit four points clear of the north Londoners at the top of the table as they cruised to a 3-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.
And they could now seal the title by beating Chelsea at the Etihad next week.
Meanwhile, they may even be champions before they next kick a ball in the league if Arsenal lose to Nottingham Forest next Saturday.
Laporte was quick to take to social media following the match to comment on him winning what should be his soon-to-be fifth Premier League winner’s medal.

He tweeted a gif of WWE icon The Rock, with the caption of the image reading: “Mmm I can smell it.”
After a fan replied to Laporte saying, ‘It’s home already,’ Laporte replied: “No no never, we still have to work for it.”
Nevertheless, City supporters were loving the Spain international’s post, as one said: “Laporte, my king!!!”
Another commented: “I love Laporte so much.”
A third added: “Aymeric Laporte is a certified troll, it’s just that he has to keep it professional.”
And another fan stated: “Top tier troll.”
Erling Haaland’s dad Alf-Inge also suggested that the Gunners’ hopes are over after he replied to a tweet that read: “Title race over?”
He simply said: “Maybe.”
It is a view shared by Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard, who cut a hugely despondent figure in his post-match interview.
He remarked: “Yeah it feels like that [whether the title is over]. It is going to be very difficult now we have to be honest. It is tough to take.
“It is not a good feeling at the moment. The way we played, particularly in the second half, I don’t know what happened to be honest. It feels like there is no hope now.
“In the first half we did a lot of good things and had moments to create big chances but we gave them more and more momentum in the second half.
“We wanted to come here and continue like we have in the last two games, get a good result and keep pushing. It is a big disappointment.
“I don’t think mentality was an issue. We were good going into the game but in the game was a different story and we have to accept it and learn from it.”
