Manchester United have unveiled the signing of striker Rasmus Hojland from Atalanta.
The Red Devils agreed a deal worth £72million to sign the highly-rated 20-year-old.
Hojlund takes United’s spending over £150m following the arrivals of Mason Mount and Andre Onana.
The Denmark striker scored nine goals in 32 Serie A appearances after signing for Atalanta in 2022 – and has six in as many games for his country.
United fended off interest from French champions Paris Saint-Germain to sign the former Copenhagen and Sturm Graz star.
Hojlund has drawn comparisons to Erling Haaland, not only because of his height and bright blond hair, but due to the way he plays.
Standing at 6ft 2in, Hojlund is a powerful player who is dangerous in the air, but the Dane is also light on his feet and incredibly quick.
When asked about comparisons to Haaland last season, Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini nodded along.
He said: “Hojlund has this spirit, energy, intensity, but also technical quality that is just remarkable.
“He still has so much margin for improvement, too.
“He has very similar characteristics to Haaland, not just his face. He is so quick, he’s under 11 seconds over 100m and that’s not even trying very hard.
“Considering his height, he has a low centre of gravity and can move his legs very fast. I am convinced he’ll have a great career, he just gets stronger every day.”
