Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri was animated on the touchline in his side’s Coppa Italia quarter-final win.
The Old Lady beat Lazio 1-0 to set up a meeting with Inter, but Allegri did not seem best pleased with his side as footage of the final minutes of the game show.
As Juve looked to close out their win, Allegri was growing increasingly impatient with forward Angel Di Maria.
And he was sent over the edge after the ex-Manchester United winger fired a shot wide in the closing stages of the game.
As Di Maria’s chance rolled past the far post, footage posted on social media shows the Juve boss turning back towards his bench, flailing his arms around.
The Italian then screws up his face and is then heard letting out a loud scream.
His high-pitched screech goes on as he continues to stomp around his technical area and wave his arms in frustration.
Then – still screaming – Allegri heads towards the tunnel at the Allianz Stadium and sulks down it, showing he’d well and truly seen enough of his side’s performance.
After the game, the former AC Milan boss explained he had lost his head at Di Maria’s miss.
“In those moments, you must understand the game and the ball must be handled differently,” he told the media.
He was pleased overall, though, praising the team. “Lazio are not an easy side to play against. If you let them run at you, they’re really good. We slowed them down and did well to cut out the passing lanes. Then when Milinkovic-Savic came on we shut off the supply line for crosses too. I’m happy with the way we performed.”
To be fair to Allegri, it’s been a bad time to be boss of the Turin outfit at the moment.
His side now sit in 13th spot in Serie A following the points deduction they were handed in January after being punished for financial irregularities.
Juve had been third in the league, but now sit 15 points off the European spots and Champions League spaces.
The club’s entire board resigned last November too, amid the investigation.
